The County Show

Today we ventured forth to the local county show, celebrating it's 160th year, one can only imagine how it has changed since the very first one (it is certainly a lot more commercialised now, £2 for a coffee at some stands-what cheek!) but very pleased to see a lot of traditional arts and crafts being displayed, promoted and encouraged from willow weaving to wood-turning.

GS loved the Dancing Digger display, Punch & Judy, and the animals on show, whilst Mr G.T made the most of the sweetie stands & admired the tractors!

I became inspired by some of the beautiful craft stalls there to maybe build up some items of my own to show in the future, it would definitely be a giggle to have a stall somewhere for the day, I am sure my family would help, I'll have to look in to it.

  1. Oh how fun! I had to show my little guy the dancing diggers and tractors- it's just heaven to little boys.

I make the BBQ chicken pizza at home, but I often use prepared pizza shells. We like it best with mozzarella and smoked gouda cheese, caramelized red onions, and some scallions/green onions as a garnish if I have them available. The sauce can be done one of two ways- either generously coat the shredded chicken, or use plain chicken and fill a baggie with sauce, snip off the tip and lay it on in a spiral over the top of the other ingredients before baking. (Ok, now I want a pizza, lol.)

  2. Hi, I have just found your blog today. Your little boy is very cute, love that toothy grin!
I agree wholeheartedly with what you say about picnics.
It sounds like you have had an extremely tough time recently. Good luck with the new craft learning, being creative can be such a good outlet.
    Take care

  3. A lovely blog!! Thank you too, for following mine!!! It looks as though you all had a great time at the show, and the pics are great!!
I would love to sell my handmade items from a stall too. I suppose I should start 'creating' now!!
Have a lovely week, and you're welcome to join the giveaway!!

    Sharon xx
